OFFICE TECH 1 (N. FELONY DATA ENTRY COORDINATOR) POSITION AVAILABLE
Associated Counsel for the Accused (ACA), a non-profit Public Defender Law Firm, has an immediate full-time opening for an administrative staff member to perform a wide range of support duties and responsibilities, with an emphasis on data entry.
The position will be stationed in the ACA Seattle Office at 110 Prefontaine Pl S. The position is full-time-40 hours per week and starting pay is $15.54/hr -- $32,328/year (not negotiable). The individual who is chosen to fill this position will be required to complete a background investigation questionnaire and pass the Department of Adult and Juvenile Clearance Request test. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coordinating clerical and administrative activities associated with cases that are assigned to ACA by the Office of Public Defense (OPD)
• Inputting assigned cases into the case management system (data entry)
• Creating files and preparing documents related to the opening of cases
• Preparing and filing Notices of Appearance and Client Contact letters
• Verifying accuracy of information regarding assigned cases and conducting conflict of interest checks (via checking various court and other databases)
• Opening cases with a “request for appointment” addressed to OPD, primarily via the use of Excel spreadsheets; further accounting for and tracking cases to ensure ACA being paid for services rendered
• Closing cases in the case management database, including the data entry of multiple case-related details and information relating to ACA performance of its contractual obligations
• Performing many other miscellaneous duties as necessary and assigned
Required skills and experience include:
• Strong computer data entry skills and experience including knowledge and expertise with Excel spreadsheets
• Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills: professional, friendly, easy-going/even-temperament, and the ability to show respect and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with challenging individuals in a sometimes very fast-paced work environment
• Good work ethic

• The ability to multi-task and timeliness is a must
This position requires a strongly self-motivated individual who will be comfortable working in a public defense environment with public defense attorneys and other staff, and occasionally with ACA clients (individuals who have been arrested and are utilizing the services of a public defense agency). High school degree/GED required and some college preferred.
